In just a few
short weeks, I will be happily relaxing and playing in the Western Caribbean on
my first cruise. I'm excited, overwhelmed by how much I have to get done at
work before I go, and mentally packing items in my head each day.
Based on scanning
resort wear websites and reading other bloggers' words of advice, here are new
items making it into my suitcase.
Noise canceling
headphones
I'm not the
worlds most relaxed flier, but I love to travel. For Christmas I asked for and
received these Bose QuietComfort® 25 Acoustic Noise Cancelling® headphones.
Just the flip of a switch and I will be snoozing at 30,000 feet.

Maxi dresses
I have never
owned a maxi before, but for a cruise it just seemed perfect. I got these two
maxi dresses on sale from Mod Cloth. The pink one is floral and flowy and perfect for a formal night. The
striped one is nautical and fun and I just couldn't resist. Images courtesy of Modcloth.com.
Cover up
Cover up
I know the ship’s
dining areas have dress codes, so I got this cover up (also on sale) through Mod Cloth. It was tough to
find a cover up that wasn't sheer or see through. This one is cute and even
lined for modesty.

Mini toiletries
I'm challenging
myself to fit everything I need for the 10-day trip into my carry on suitcase (I'm pinning all sorts of ideas here) so I can be spared the $50 bag check fee. Instead of the bulky mini shave cream
can, I opted for this little bottle of EOS non-aerosol shave cream that cost me less than $2.
But I can’t go without dry shampoo, so I bought some of that, too.
Ok. What am I
forgetting? Any tips for this first time cruiser?
